In 1922, following the discovery of King Tut's tomb, Egyptian themed theaters became quite popular.

The Egyptian theater in Decalbe, Illinois was one of more than 100

similarly themed theaters built in the US. Construction began in the spring of 1929 and a few

months later in December. The Egyptian theater opened its doors, just a couple of months after
