This is StoryQuest. Today's story is the ghost ninja and everything.

The first thing that you should know is that every animal in the world was a ghost.

Not the scary sort of ghost that makes you scream and drop your spaghetti, but the

floaty kind who still think they're alive even though everyone else can see straight through them.

If you went out for a walk, you'd find a ghost cow trying to chew ghost grass, a ghost dog

chasing ghost sticks and find ghost pigeons being annoying in their ghostly ways that you

wouldn't think possible. The afterlife, it turned out, was exactly like the regular life,

but transparent, with the most crucial difference being the afterlife was ruled by a phantom

walrus. Into this misty, semi-transparent menagerous, seeing the afterlife was ruled by a phantom war.

Into this misty, semi-transparent menagerie stepped the ghost ninja.

He wasn't born a ghost, of course.

No one is, that would be ridiculous.

He'd been a very average boy named Gavin Puddleton,

whose parents owned a struggling carpet shop in the town of Blister on the Hill.

One day, Gavin decided he was destined for greatness, which he had proved by tripping on his own shoelaces and falling dramatically into a vat of Dayglow wallpaper paste.

And that was the moment Gavin realized destiny could be sticky.

Later, when he died in an accident involving 17 spanners, three trombones and a particularly vicious packet of custard, he returned as a ghost ninja, because apparently the afterlife lets you

pick your own job title, like LinkedIn but a bit worse. Gavin, after a very mediocre normal life,

had decided that his life in the afterlife was going to be full of adventure and excitement.

Some say he may have taken it too far when

he decided that what he actually wanted was to rule the afterlife himself. We think the
