This is the ghost Cat of Haunted Hollow. It was a gloomy, foggy day and haunted hollow.

A cool wind howled as it blew crunchy orange leaves through the street. The shadows of the oak trees planted

hundreds of years ago danced along the pavement. Everything was old and haunted hollow.

The cobbled streets, the crumbling buildings, and most importantly, the silly superstitions.

Today was Animal Adoption Day in Haunted Hollow.

Each year the Animal Shelter held a special event where anyone in town could adopt a pet.

This would be Andrew the Cats first time here. He couldn't wait to be adopted by a loving family.

Andrew waited patiently in the pen full of other adoptable animals.

But as the sun began to set,

it seemed that almost every other creature

had been picked up, cuddled, and taken home.

Birdie the bat, pumpkin the pug, even Tarquin the tarantula.

They had all found places to call home.

Not only was Andrew not yet adopted, he hadn't even been looked at by a single

person. Andrew meowed at the people walking by in hopes they would see him and want to take

him home. To Andrew's surprise, the complete opposite happened.

As Andrew sweetly purred and rolled around,

Passers by gasped and hurried in the opposite direction.
