Eighteen years ago today, the greatest seaborne invasion in world history the greatest

act of courage known to man the greatest generation hit the beaches of Normandy, Omaha Beach, Juno Beach, and saved the world.

And some of them were kids, children, 16, 17 years old.

I just heard a story of a 15 year old who volunteered the first wave of

Americans and Allied troops to hit the beach 90% of them were killed instantly dead on that beach. And I have to wonder today

across this country how many 15 year olds, 16 year olds will learn about this amazing day, this fateful day.

How many will they take a break from learning about climate change and

celebrating Pride Month to celebrate D-Day, to celebrate the men, the kids, the boys who save the world.

On that day, 160,000 U.S. troops and Allied troops hit the beaches of France.

7,000 ships, 11,000 aircraft troop, paratroopers who jumped behind enemy lines, many of whom died before they hit the ground

or when they hit the ground because they had to make such risky jumps into France. Today there are 9387 Americans buried at Normandy.

I wonder today at school, will there be history teachers social study teachers

teaching this will they take a break from filling these kids minds with mush to

tell them about the most important day in modern history?

I doubt it.

You know what, I bet you could talk to any kid right now and they would have no idea what why the president is

shuffling around Normandy why 50 Americans heroes a hundred year old guys

hundred two year old guys are in France,

in their wheelchairs with their walkers,

being honored by the people of France.
