Welcome to The Lost Debate, a show for Politically Ecclectics. I'm Robbie Gupta, and this is an exciting episode.

0:06.5

We have somebody who I would consider one of the most important educators in the world,

0:13.0

Sal Khan, who created in the mid-2000s, a online platform, which is really, I think, minimizing what this thing is.

0:22.6

Khan Academy, you've heard us talk about it a lot on this show.

0:26.9

There are, last time I checked on the internet, over 8,000 videos in subjects like math, science,

0:34.1

literature, U.S. history, computer science, test preparation, SAT, the MCAT, the L-Sat,

0:41.2

and what makes this platform amazing, among many other things, is that it's completely free.

And as we've talked about in previous segments, it's now incorporating AI, and it's on the vanguard of using AI to augment instruction.

0:59.5

And so they say, never meet your heroes.

1:01.4

1:04.9

Thank you.

1:05.5

Very, very flattering intro.

1:08.0

1:12.8

and they were on dramatically different learning levels. So some kids came in at the fifth grade

1:19.2

level and didn't know how to read. And some kids came in at the fifth grade level and they were

1:25.8

reading at ninth grade levels. And this created a real

1:28.7

challenge of differentiation, you know, for our listeners is kind of a term, jargony term that just

1:34.9

means, how do you as one teacher with 25 to 30 kids in a classroom? How do you get each kid

1:42.3

what they need? And in almost every interview I've heard you talk about Khan Academy,

1:47.4

you talk about that as being one of the central areas of focus for Khan Academy.
