United Kingdom. Trump's election made white ethno-nationalism a trans-Atlantic phenomenon.

But on Sunday, we got to sign in another direction when a manual Macron, a centrist liberal,

was the top vote-getter in the first round of the French presidential election.

Macron is now poised to easily defeat the Marine Le Pen, the far right candidate in a runoff on

May 7th. This is a huge relief for the anti-Trumpism forces. A Le Pen victory would mean,

among other things, the end of the European Union. But how much comfort should we really take
