So make yourselves comfy, and I'll begin.

Once upon a time, there lived a poor man who had four sons.

The eldest was Bram. Then came Johann, Willem and Finn.

When they had grown into young men, he told them,

My sons, it is time for you to set out into the world and seek your fortune.

Learn a trade and make your way in this world.

So the four brothers fastened their sacks to their backs,

picked up their walking sticks and left.

They travelled for some days before they came upon a crossroads.

The road branched off into four different directions.

It is here that we each take our own path, Bram said to his brothers.

But on this day, in four years' time, let us meet here again at this very spot. In the meantime, each of us shall learn a

trade and find our fortunes. And so they separated and went their own way. Graham soon met a man on the road.

Where are you, Edd?

The man asked.

To find a trade in my fortune, Bram replied.

And what trade would that be?

The man inquired.

I do not yet know, the young man answered.

Then come with me and be a thief, said the man.

Graham shook his head. No, he said. That is not a reputable trade and all it brings is a trip to the gallows.
