I first heard about it last year some point, perhaps about eight to 12 months ago. And we were just amazed those of us who

follow these things at the idea that they were going to release four films.

You might have sensed something in the air.

Maybe you're part of it, but huge excitement has been building among fans at the prospect of not one,

but four new films about the Beatles, as revealed by the Oscar-winning director Sam Mendes,

as he introduced the world to his cast.

Harris Dickinson will play John Lennon, Paul Meskow,

will play Sir Paul McCartney, Barry Kogan,

will play Ringo Starr, Sir Ringo Starr, I should say,

and Joseph Quinn is going to play George Harrison.

Mendes will make all four films, which will be interconnected and released one after the other,

like a bingeable box set of films from April 2028.

I'm still to this day not sure why they went with that decision or how it's going to work.

I had a kind of sneaking suspicion that they couldn't get the four Beatles and Beatles' estates to

agree on a single narrative. But in a way, it's exciting because the Beatles always did things differently to everyone else.

So why not, if you're going to do a biopic of the Beatles, why not do it differently too?

So what more is there to be discovered about the most famous band in history?

And what does their short time together in the 1960s

tell us about who we are in the 2020s?
