historian Doris Kearns Goodwin on the show today in our second hour she's got a

new book called an unfinished love story a personal history of the 1960s. It's part memoir about her life and her

late husband, Dick Goodwin's life, but also very much American history as Dick Goodwin

wrote President Lyndon Johnson's

seminal Great Society speech that in a way has framed Democratic Party

politics ever since 1964. We'll play a classic sound bite from 60 years ago this spring and much more with

Doris Kearns Goodwin coming up. But talk about making presidential history as we speak, day one of jury selection

is underway in the first ever criminal trial

of a former US president.

Donald Trump, of course, in criminal court in Manhattan right now in the so-called

hush money case falsifying business records allegedly to cover up the fact that

it would look bad in the 2016 presidential campaign that he was

paying former porn store Stormy Daniels to stay quiet about an affair she

says they had Trump is pleading not guilty.

So the first big question in this historic case

is, and they seat a fair jury.
