Okay, so listeners, we're going to put up with telephone

quality for the first couple of minutes here, but then we will get it straightened out. And it's

going to be well worth it because we have the great presidential historian Doris Kearns Goodwin

on the show today. In our second hour, she's got a new book called an unfinished love story,

a personal history of the 1960s.

It's part memoir about her life and her late husband, Dick Goodwin's life, but also very much American history,

as Dick Goodwin wrote President Lyndon Johnson's Seminole Great Society speech that in a way has framed Democratic Party politics ever since, since 1964.

We'll play a classic soundbite from 60 years ago this spring, and much more with Doris

Kearns Goodwin coming up.

But talk about making presidential history.

As we speak, day one of jury selection is underway in

the first ever criminal trial of a former u.s. president Donald Trump of course

in criminal court in Manhattan right now in the so-called hush money case

falsifying business records allegedly to cover up the fact that it would look bad in the 2016 presidential campaign

that he was paying former porn star Stormy Daniels to stay quiet about an affair.

She says they had.

Trump is pleading not guilty.

So the first big question in this historic case is,

and they seat a fair jury.
