Oh. This is undaunted life a man's podcast. I'm your host Kyle Thompson. Let's get into it. Welcome back to The Forging Table. The mission of Undaunted Life is equipping them to push back darkness with content that forges spiritual mental and physical resilience. At the Forging Table, you'll see a group of regular guys forging spiritual resilience by digging into God's Word. And we're welcoming all of you to come along on that journey with us. That's Ryan, that's Browning, That's Dagan. Now last week, we had a travesty, right? And you would have thought the travesty that I was talking about is the fact that if you keep old Christmas tree cakes and then eat them after their expiration date, that they're going to be awesome. And they just weren't. They flat out weren't. But you know what? I think I'm going to keep this one in the plastic and I'm going to keep it in the studio like on the shelf over there like with the

forged table materials and the hundred books every modern Christian man should read list, just to see how it does over time. Hey, in another couple months, you could just make that a Christmas tree ornament. I want to see who's going to grab it and eat it. I think it's a ornament style now.

Some saw it off friend of mine's going to come in here and just pull it off and go crazy with it. But last week, your lovely bride, she, me, inconvenienced herself to B-boop over here and leave us a bottle of McAllen 12 over here. That's not 12. Sorry, Macallon 18. How dare I? So McCallon 18-year-old. And realize it was, I knew it was an old bottle because it's all the dust, but I completely forgot about the cork. And I just Neanderthal that thing right off the top. And so you might be wondering, well, Kyle, I see the cork up there. Yeah, I finagled in there. I got that cork out of there. There's very little cork that got down into there. And we happen to have some scotch in our glasses. So we're going to do a little Scots class for you guys. So because before the pandemic, believe or not, I would do whiskey tasting classes for charity. I would like do some charity things and like help out some. So some of those glasses have some. I did one for the American Cancer Society. I did one for Oklahoma State University. Which is currently drowning. Yeah. Just like the football team.

2:37.9

Yeah. Oh, boy. And it's not going to get any better about time. You'll hear this. We can say that.

2:41.2

But a couple of quick things. If you ever see a number on a bottle of whiskey, what that indicates on this one, it's McCallon, 18-year-old.

2:51.2

Basically what that means is the youngest whiskey that's in the bottle is 18 years old.

2:57.0

Now, in order to get the flavor profile that they want, you know, maybe there's mainly

3:01.9

18-year-old scotch in there and maybe there's some 20-year-old and maybe even some 25-year-old.

3:06.6

But if there's a drop of 18-year-old

3:09.0

in that cask, they got to put 18 on the bottle. And a lot of whiskeys don't have an age statement of any kind. Doesn't mean anything. Just means they're not trying to advertise via the age statement. And just because it's older doesn't necessarily mean it's better. As an example, I like the Glenn Grant 12 year old better than like the Glenn Grant 15 yearold. A lot of it just comes down to marketing and different things like that. But so this is a Glen Karen glass. It is fluided. It's going to help you with the three parts of a whiskey. Okay. So Dagan, because you're not a very experienced scotch drinker. Are you right? I'm a bourbon guy. More of a bourbon guy. So there are three parts when you're tasting a whiskey for the first time. There's the nose. There's the palate. And then there's the finish. So there's three things. But right now we're going to work on the nose. So if it's the first time you've had whiskey for the, don't skip ahead. Ryan, just good smell. The kids, let the kid, you're always the ruiner of momentum, okay?

3:59.2

Can you just stop, rooting moment?

4:00.3

And just do what I say. You just sit there and think about what you don't.

4:02.9

Sit on your hands, actually.

4:03.7

I'm not even going to open.

4:04.6

I'm not going to touch the butt.

4:05.3

I'm just going to do this.
