This is Undaunted Life a man's podcast. I'm your host Kyle Thompson. Let's get into it. King, welcome to the studio, but hey, you've been here for a while because you got here before the sun came up. Yes. For whatever reason, you decided it would be a good idea to come work out. Absolutely. I think it was your idea, actually. It was my idea. Okay, so what did you do that for? And do you regret it? Yeah, I don't, I don't regret it at all. We just had a good, great, great time. The reason I wanted to work out is because I'm just trying to get my body back in shape anyway. And the best thing for me to do is to do things that suck. And that's how you kind of maneuver through life. We have to go ahead and

0:55.2

embrace the suck. That's why how you kind of maneuver through life.

0:54.5

We have to go ahead and embrace the suck. That's why I drink black coffee every morning because I hate it. I drank black coffee to remind me that the grind is bitter. You can't dilute the purpose. So we just have to keep moving and keep pushing. But definitely doing things that you hate to start the day. We'll set the tone for the rest of the day. Well, so when people are so, like, anxious to get after it, like, it kind of challenges me because whenever I lift in the garage, I'm just by myself. And so it's mainly just power lift stuff. So it's like deadlift and squat and bench and stuff like that. But then I've got other little devices around and other little torture devices. I got, you know, the aerodyne bike and all that. but I busted out the tire for you this morning. And so we, we ended up as a team flipping that tire for about a third of a mile or a quarter of a mile or something like that. And so that's not like a normal everyday workout. So we flip the tire five times and then we do. Well, we got to go back to the warmup. Oh, yeah. So the warm up, because if I just told you, hey, you know, as a warmup, just do like 100 air squats, you know, 100 pushups.

1:47.3

Yeah, I mean, that's really not that big a deal. But you do a pyramid. And so you go one pushup, one squat, two pushups, two squats, three pushups, three squats. You go all the way up to 10. And then you work your way down. Right. 10, 9, 8, all the way back down. And so it's only 100, but whenever you're doing 7 and then 8 and then 9, and then you're like, oh, shoot, I got to come back down. I mean, when you come back down when you get to 5, 4, 3, you start like really going through. But that was warm up. It was the fun part, but it was still tough, like, you know, going down. but going down was way better than going up, trust me. Yeah, it wasn't a whole lot of fun, but you know,

2:19.7

that's not why we work out to have fun.

2:21.4

But so, was still tough, like, you know, going down, but going down was way better than going up, trust me.

2:18.0

Yeah, it wasn't a whole lot of fun, but, you know, that's not why we work out to have fun.

2:21.4

But so then for the actual workout, workout, we take the tire out there, and the tire is about four feet tall. I forget how, I got the weight on it before, but I forgot it. So it's a good size tractor tire. And so it's like, okay, one guy's going to flip it for five while the other

2:35.5

guys doing push-ups. Right. So one it's like, okay, one guy's going to flip it for five while the other guy's doing

2:36.0

push-ups, right? So one guy's flipping the tire for five, and then the other guy's doing 10 push-ups, and then we switch. And so we go all the way down, and the first, you know, track, because it was just on my street, we go down around the cul-de-sac and back to the, you know, garage or whatever. it's uphill the whole way up.

2:50.9

And then so you get a little bit of, you know,

2:52.8

effort, you know, less effort on the back, the, you know, garage or whatever, it's uphill the whole way up. And then so you get a little

2:51.9

bit of, you know, effort, you know, less effort on the back end because it's going downhill. But yeah, and then we, we did a little bit of abs and, you know, kind of moved on from there. So, you were doing good at the beginning. You did real good at the end. Like it was, but it was that middle part of the tarifflet. I love doing abs. It's like one of my favorite things to do.

3:08.7

Just got to get the endurance back up. Yeah. But yeah, I kind of started, I was working out probably about nine months straight, um, um, before April. So back in April, um, my mom's dad and my dad's dad both died in the same day. and that was a tough thing.

3:24.3

And what was interesting was

3:25.9

it's not that I was even grieving or anything.

3:27.7

I just had got, and my dad's dad both died in the same day. And that was a tough thing. And what was interesting was

3:26.0

it's not that I was even grieving or anything. I just had got busy. I planned both funerals.

3:30.4

I did both eulogies. My mom and dad were out of it. Like they weren't coherent enough to even

3:36.0

try and prepare those things. And, you know, they both, you know, were the main child of both.

3:42.2

So I ended up doing both of those. And I was fine for the most part. I didn't really feel

3:46.7

like sad or anything because I'm just used to, hey, things happens, the circle of life. It is what it is.
