Police in Tallahassee, just giving an update on the shooting at Florida State University.

Two people are dead, six injured, with one suspect taken into custody.

Let's get to Steve Harrigan.

And we finally got the numbers from law enforcement.

Two people killed by the shooter, the shooting taking place just afternoon on FSU campus right in the center on a beautiful Thursday midday. Six people wounded and the shooter also wounded. The shooter, Phoenix Eichner, 20 years old. Police say he is not talking yet, giving no motive for the shooting, but in a real dramatic twist, they did reveal that he's the son of a

veteran sheriff's deputy, a multi-year veteran who actually used a handgun, personal handgun,

a veteran deputy in the shooting. He also took part in a number of sheriff's training programs.

So this shooter, a 20-year-old, was well known to the

sheriff's community, used a gun owned by his mother. Here's what the sheriff had to say about this.

He's a son of a Leon County Sheriff deputy. Our deputy,

Deputy Eitner, has been with the Learne County Sheriff's Office for

over 18 years.

She has a tremendous

job

that she's done. Her service to this

community has been exceptional.
