When I was a boy, probably eight years old, seven, eight years old.

I have a pretty distinct memory of my mom watching TV in the morning and exercising with the Jack Lillane show.

So Jack was, he's often referred to as the godfather of fitness.

He was born in 1914 and around age 15 really was having some health issues as a teenager.

I think he called himself a sugaraholic.

And at age 15, made the decision to change the way he was living. Changed his diet, his nutrition, and started exercising.

And a little bit later, as a young man, opened the first fitness gyms, exercise gyms that people could

go and join an exercise.

They were in California.

And then I think it was in the 50s.

He started what was at first a local morning exercise show

on a California TV station, and it eventually was syndicated nationwide.

And I remember his outfit was, it was a short-sleeved jumper with like long pants, not pants, but not yoga pants,
