This is a podcast of action, providing a little extra motivation to keep that fitness promise.

Hi, I'm Dave. I've been walking for fitness since 2013, averaging almost 21,000 steps a day. That's actually not my goal.

That's really more a reflection of how much I love this activity.

I love the benefits that I'm getting now and also the future benefits and investment in my

future years. Special edition of walking is fitness. This is the International Space Station edition. This happens

every now and then where I learn that the International Space Station will be flying overhead

around the time when I'm going to be walking. And so we'll start looking for it in a few minutes.

This is the inner space geek in me.

I've been fascinated by space travel since I was probably six or seven years old.

It was right around the time that they were beginning the Apollo moon

shots and Neil and Buzz landed on the moon when I was nine years old. It was just the perfect age

for me to be captured, my imagination to be captured, and I've just been fascinated ever since.

And so while the International Space Station flying overhead is not quite as exciting as a moon

landing, it's still something that if I can, and the skies are clear, and they are right now,

I'm going to head out and watch the space station. So if you've never seen the International Space Station fly overhead, and we'll be honest here, probably very few of us actually are interested.

Every time it happens, I say to my wife,

hey, let's go look at it.

She could not be more disinterested.
