Unfictional is a program of true stories and personal documentaries. and today on the program a story that proves that music and

laughs and light can come out from the darkest times.

One of the most dangerous jobs a man can do is to be a commercial fisherman.

And in 2008, Jane Dolby lost her husband Colin when his fishing boat was caught in a storm, his body was never found.

And without a body there was no death certificate, and without that there was no life insurance,

no way to support her family.

So a few years later, to try and raise money for families in similar circumstances,

Jane put together the Fish Wives Choir,

with women from all over the UK who had lost their husbands, fathers,

brothers, and sons to the sea. Most of these women hadn't even sung since

their school days, but their live shows were a big hit, and now Jane, Laura, Lee, and Wendy are ready to record their first album.
