All right, friends, I am excited as we continue this God's story series of the Morning Mindset.

We're here to get our minds aligned with the truth of God's word for this day, and we'll be looking at Acts chapter 13 verses 1 through 3.

morningmindsatmedia.com slash journal. Okay, before we dig in to Acts 13, I really feel a need for God

to be the one who's teaching us. I hope you do too. So let's pray together and ask him to do

exactly that. Lord, God, as we look at the history of what happened in the early days of the church,

we're asking you to guide us, Lord. We're asking you to bring us to a place of understanding

for the sake of your name. We ask it in Jesus' name. Amen.

Okay, so if you have your Bible and you're open to Acts 13, let me just set this up for us here.

We are going to be following along the story of the Apostle Paul. He's one of the people we've heard

about in the last two episodes. First of all, he was an enemy of the church.

Then Jesus transformed him miraculously.

We heard about that in yesterday's episode.

And here, the Apostle Paul, amazingly, is being sent out as a part of the first missionary team

that the church ever sent out to reach lost people,

people who did not know about Jesus, with the gospel message.

So in Acts 13, 1 through 3, it says now there were in the church at Antioch prophets and teachers,

Barnabas, Simeon, who was called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Menean, a lifelong friend of Herod the

Tetrarch, and Saul. While they were worshipping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said,

Set apart for me, Barnabas and Saul, for the word to which I have called them. Then after fasting and

praying, they laid their hands on them
