The political assassination of Charlie Kirk.

And even there were people online, didn't like him, didn't like his politics.

He actually became, I would say, the most influential conservative leader outside government, very close to President Trump, as CPAC and others have faded in importance.

So I'm throwing out the buzzes today. I'll have a few words to say about my personal

situation at the end of this podcast. But just when we learned that Charlie Kirk had been shot

in the neck in Utah, just when we learned that he had been shot in the neck in Utah just when we learned that he had died.

Elon Musk posted this.

The left is the party of murder.

And I'm just, you know, every single person who is or would consider themselves a

liberal, they endorse this. The blame game aspect of this, everybody waits to see, you know,

these are insane people. Everybody waits to see who did it, who's accused of doing it, how can we blame the other side, is extraordinarily unhelpful.

So right after the shooting, Matthew Dowd, senior political analysts at MSNBC, went on the air and first said,

well, maybe it was one of his own supporters shooting off a gun in celebration.

And then he said of Charlie Kirk, he's been one of the most divisive, especially divisive

younger figures on this, who is constantly sort of pushing this sort of hate speech. And I always go

back to hateful thoughts lead to hateful words, which then lead to hateful action. You can't

stop with these sorts of awful thoughts you have and then saying these awful words

and then not expect awful actions to take place. And that's the unfortunate environment we are in.
