Well, Christmas is the only time of year where we have mixed feelings about breaking and entering.

Normally, if someone breaks into the house, it's not good.

Christmas is the only time we feel differently.

We say, well, I don't know, who is it?

And why are they here?

Their identity, their activity kind of has

bearing on it. Are you Santa here to give presents? Or are you the Grinch here to take them?

If it's Santa, cool. Come on down that chimney, right? Because I know who you are and I know why

you're here. I know you're here to give and not to take, right,

to bring joy rather than steal it. So it leads to an interesting question as we talk about

Christmas and the arrival of Jesus, the advent of Jesus, it brings up those same questions.

Well, who is he and why is he here? Because that's going to impact how I feel about what's transpiring

in my house. It's interesting years ago I had a buddy Christian was driving around with his sister

who's not a Christian and her little daughter and they were driving around looking at Christmas lights

and at one point her little daughter said in the back, as they were looking at lights,

what's what the baby some people are decorating their yard with? And he said, his sister looked at him and was

like, oh, like maybe she should know who that baby is, just for cultural purposes, right? This child did

not know how to respond, because I don't know who

that kid is, and I don't know why that baby is there. I don't know what it means. But this also
