It is Saturday, January 31st, and we're watching the streets of Minneapolis this morning,

where protests have continued.

They're braving the frigid temperatures to resist Donald Trump's brutal ice crackdown.

This says the administration claims broad new powers

for ICE to conduct arrests without warrants. Plus, we're combing through millions of pages of newly

released documents from the Epstein files, but both Democrats and Republicans have already taken

note of what's missing in the DOJ's latest release. And we're not just talking this morning

about why people protest,

but how to do it. I'll be joined by the organizing director of the nonprofit immigrant defense

network for a step-by-step guide to safely protesting and knowing your rights. And I'll talk to

Ben Cohen of Ben and Jerry's about every American consumer's economic power and how best to bring it to bear against

corporations that enable injustice. But we begin this morning with an assault on one of the

fundamental freedoms that's been established by the First Amendment of the Constitution,

the freedom of the press. Two independent journalists, Don Lemon and Georgia Fort,

were arrested by federal authorities yesterday

in connection with their work covering a protest that disrupted a church service in Minnesota

earlier this month. Both were charged with two counts of criminal conspiracy related to interfering

with the right to exercise religious freedom. Don Lemon is a longtime journalist whom Trump has publicly

ridiculed for years. Georgia Fort, who was working as Lemon's producer on the day of the

protest, serves as the vice president of the Minnesota chapter of the National Association of Black

Journalists. Both were released from custody yesterday. Here's a defiant Don Lemon outside the courthouse.
