Hello from Washington, I'm Chuck Todd and this is the Chuck Todd cast.

As the 2020 Democrats make their way through Iowa this all this month, this is the last

chance for many of them to stay in the mix before the next debate window closes.

August 28th is their sort of D-Day scenario there for these candidates.

If they don't qualify by then, they can't get into the next debate.

So in some ways for some of these candidates August 28th is caucus date for them.

Meanwhile, there is this larger conversation that's taking place on guns, character, white

supremacy, how much of that is going to influence the conversation as Congress gets ready to

come back.

So I've got a couple of good guests to talk about all of this in this week's podcast.

I'm joined by Sahil Kupor, National Public Report for Bloomberg News in Shana Thomas,

the vice news Washington Bureau chief, both veterans of Capitol Hill back in the day.
