Hello from Washington, I'm Chuck Todd and this is the Chuck Todd cast on Today's Show.

There's clearly something wrong with Washington.

The White House canceled a trip to our ally, Denmark.

The president continued his attacks on Muslim congresswomen and, oh, by the way, Russia

might be invited back into the G7 because now that they've given back Kremlin, oh, no

wait, they didn't do that.

Nobody seems to have a problem with any of this inside the Republican Party.

Meanwhile, the White House announced a new draconian position in immigration.

The White House is considering some new tax cuts, even though they claim the economy

is doing just fine.

And any chance of background checks for guns that also seems to have vanished, though that

is less surprising.

I'm joined today by a longtime colleague of mine over the years, Matt Bae, who's an author

and columnist.

And Gabby Orr, she's a White House reporter for Politico.

Plus, we will be joined by Nick Timmero's chief economics reporter for the Wall Street Journal

to talk about what we really need to know about an economy that suddenly has our collective

attention.
