One of the main responsibilities of the Federal Reserve is to keep inflation in check.

But this year, that hasn't worked out so well.

The big story here in the U.S. another disappointing report on inflation has served to levels we haven't

seen in four decades.

Right now, World Series is very expensive for people that can't afford to buy groceries.

It's an up 1.3% in June.

Prices are up 9.1% over the past year.

Even when you eat now, the supper, you may show you got for the next day you got perfect.

Because you don't know if you're going to rush lunch.

Prices rose 8.5% in July compared to a year ago.

This follows June's inflation.

In August was mostly unchanged, despite the Fed's actions to cool, soaring prices.

No one can seem to put the brakes on inflation.

It's getting difficult for me and everybody else.

Since March, the Fed has been raising interest rates to try to slow down inflation without

causing too much economic pain.

The Fed had thought that their interest rate increases in combination with other things

happening in the economy would slow down job growth and that hasn't really happened yet.

So when that doesn't happen, that can lead policymakers to say, gee, maybe we need to

hit this thing a little bit harder.
