Summary

Whether your dad was a constant presence or a total mystery, that first relationship shaped how you see yourself today. He was your first blueprint for what love, protection, and worth should look like—and if that blueprint was broken, it’s likely affecting how you show up in your relationships right now. In this episode, we’re digging into: How "father wounds" impact your adult attachment style. The reality of being "physically present but emotionally absent." How to stop waiting for him to change and finally start living for yourself. You deserve to be free from the weight of his choices. Let’s talk about how to start healing.   🎉 December Promo! 🎉 Buy my High Value Bootcamp this month and get a FREE 1:1 session with me! I hope you're going for your walk today or maybe your commute to work isn't so bad. I hope this

0:14.9

is the podcast that you really needed to listen to in order to just kind of gain that insight.

But I thought it would be a great time to start

0:21.4

tackling some of the really big wounds. I know we did an episode recently, and we talked about

significant relationships. So between mom and dad. And today I thought it would be a great idea

0:42.6

to kind of tackle our dads out there. You know, and this isn't to put shade on anyone because,

0:48.3

look, we're all, we're adults at this point. We understand that we're all human and we're living

0:51.7

this human experience. And hopefully by this time, you've learned enough where you've been able to forgive a lot of people,

1:01.1

parents included, who didn't always do the best job.

1:04.8

And I know this can be a really painful topic because not everyone is there and not everyone has

1:09.2

offered that grace to some of the people in

1:14.1

their lives, particularly their parents, most likely their father. And it can be a real struggle

1:20.5

to offer forgiveness and try to understand why he did what he did or why he behaved the way he behaved towards you or maybe your

1:30.1

siblings or possibly even your mother if, you know, there was some trauma there and some

1:34.6

things or resent possibly. The point of this is for us to understand how this man affected

1:41.9

us, both good and bad. And sometimes the bad stuff that comes leaves a lasting

1:48.2

impression. And it can help us in a lot of good ways if we really understand. Now, obviously,
