Goldsmith, and this is the Q&A. My agenda is simple. Each week I plan to bring you in-depth

insight into the creative process of storytelling. Folks, I cannot tell you how psyched I was to have

co-writer, Sir Christopher Hampton, and co-writer, director, Florian Zeller with me to discuss their latest film,

The Father.

Now, the Father has been Oscar nominated for screenplay, amongst other nominations that are

all rightly deserved.

And there is just so much to unpack about it because it's so rare to see happen on

screen what they did.

And to think that this started as a play, I can't imagine what this would have looked

like live.

It would have been a trip.

But it just has a great look about it in the film.

As you know, the story is about someone suffering dementia.

But what's so interesting about it as we're going to talk about is that we see that

experience from the point of view of the sufferer, which is just

very rare and very difficult to do as well.

Without a doubt, Florian and Sir Christopher were so forthcoming about their creative process

and what it took to make this unique film that I know you'll dig this episode.

Of course, Florian and Sir Christopher have also been in the series

recently because they were there for the 13th annual screenwriting nominees panel. We had 14
