| 0:15.2 | Well, before getting into sales, it was getting into technology, because I saw the future. |
| 0:23.8 | It was blatant, it was smack in my face, it was no avoiding it, so there was no eureka |
| 0:29.2 | moment there, but it was getting into technology and specifically software, because then when |
| 0:37.6 | I got into sales, software had such large margins that they could pay so well. |
| 0:45.6 | If you sell a piece of hardware, you've got manufacturing costs, delivery costs, repair |
| 0:52.3 | costs, all of that stuff, software, you build it once and you maintain it. |
| 0:57.9 | The margins were huge, which enabled companies to pay so well for software sales people, |
| 1:04.9 | that then getting into sales at that time was just obvious and so rewarding. |
| 1:13.6 | Now before technology, I was also in sales, you know, in high school, I sold shoes and |
| 1:20.3 | retail, and yeah, it was commission, so you had some control over your income. |
| 1:27.4 | But it still was retail, so the upside was pretty well-capped, because you were always |
| 1:34.1 | dependent on who came in the store, you didn't go out and go door to door with the shoes. |

| 1:42.9 | What I'm saying is find those pivot points in your career, and that's what we're going |
| 1:48.6 | to be talking about today, that okay, is sales right for you, okay? |
| 1:53.9 | I come down to basically, are you money-motivated, do you enjoy working with people, are you competitive, |
| 2:01.2 | do you like variety, those are the kind of the key things. |
| 2:05.6 | And can you have the resilience for rejection and handle the pressure? |
