When I talk about careers, people often ask, what were some of the smartest moves you

0:05.5

made in your career?

0:07.5

I'll answer the dumbest ones later.

0:11.1

The smartest ones, well, you would think it'd be getting into sales.

0:15.2

Well, before getting into sales, it was getting into technology, because I saw the future.

0:23.8

It was blatant, it was smack in my face, it was no avoiding it, so there was no eureka

0:29.2

moment there, but it was getting into technology and specifically software, because then when

1:34.1

dependent on who came in the store, you didn't go out and go door to door with the shoes.

1:40.2

So why am I talking about this?

1:42.9

What I'm saying is find those pivot points in your career, and that's what we're going

1:48.6

to be talking about today, that okay, is sales right for you, okay?

1:53.9

I come down to basically, are you money-motivated, do you enjoy working with people, are you competitive,

2:01.2

do you like variety, those are the kind of the key things.

2:05.6

And can you have the resilience for rejection and handle the pressure?
