according to his image and guiding us from our current state to where he desires

John wrote St John, he wrote First John, Second John 3rd John, and he even wrote the book of revelation under

the auspices of the Holy Spirit.

In St John, he was primarily concerned with entering into a relationship with God by accepting Christ

and getting converted.

In 1st John, the book we are walking through, is speaking to Christians people who are already

converted and he's speaking about the transformational nature of intimacy with the

God who we're now related to once you become a

Christian. He is concerned that this relationship gets close and intimate and

its powerful effect is experienced in our lives, not just known about in our heads.

He wants us to experience intimacy with God so that we stay right with him and we grow and accelerate in our spiritual experience with him.

To do that, he wants us to be clarified on our family relationship.

We're now in chapter 3 as we walk verse by verse through this book.
