Text today, which is Matthew chapter 6 in verse 22 and 23, your eye is like a lamp that provides light for your body.

And when your eye is healthy, your whole body is filled with light.

But when your eye is unhealthy, your whole body is filled with darkness.

And if the light you think you have is

actually darkness, how deep that darkness is. And we're speaking today from the subject simply,

the eyes have it. The eyes have it. The eyes have it. You may be seated. Whether you realize it or not, this is part of the sermon on the

mountain that Jesus gave. It was quite a lengthy sermon that dealt with many different areas of

truth and facets of human life here on the earth. But here Jesus uses the imagery of the eye as the light to the body, and he uses that

to illustrate for us a spiritual principle.

Now, we've read this passage here in the new Living Translation, but actually in the King James Version,

instead of the Bible using the word that the New Living Translation uses as healthy, it uses the word

single, if your eye is single, if it is single. And that comes actually from the Greek word hapless.

And here's what that means. It means clear. It means clear. When your eye is single, when it is

healthy, it means that it is clear. It means that it is undivided.

It means that it is sincere in its focus.

It has sincere focus free from distortion.

Nobody has tried to twist it.

Free from distortion and also free of ulterior motives.

So when you talk about a single eye, it is an eye that deals with sincerity. It means that the person is authentic, that they are genuine. There's so much stuff.

Now, you see something on social media. You see anything online.

You don't know whether it's AI or not.

You don't know what's fabricated or not.
