| 0:42.2 | And it's interesting when we think about sort of the art of conversation and the way |
| 0:48.0 | in which conflict, verbal conflict, can sometimes arise, whether it's with people we |
| 0:53.6 | love or perhaps complete strangers sometimes. |
| 0:56.6 | So there is a definite sort of pattern to explore and something that we can start to |
| 1:01.9 | explore even in our own minds outside of those situations, but then something we can |
| 1:05.9 | carry back into those situations. |
| 1:10.9 | I remember in one particular monastery, a lot of training, there was a practice where |
| 1:15.5 | the younger monks, especially the monks that were learning academic information, they |
| 1:19.8 | would gather together in the courtyard and they would essentially have a debate. |
| 1:26.0 | The one person would propose something, and then as the other one would sort of countering |
| 1:30.4 | that or exploring it in one way, the other one would be trying to distract them in some |
| 1:35.3 | way. |
| 1:36.3 | They distract them by sort of stamping on the floor, by clapping their hands. |
| 1:39.2 | It's quite a sight actually to watch. |
