I'm Brian. I'm on the phone with Ashvin, and today we are talking about The Exorcist from 1973, directed by

William Friedkin, written by William Peter Blattie, based on his novel of the same name from

1971, starring Ellen Bernstein, Linda Blair, Jason Miller, and Max von Saito.

This movie is about a young girl who becomes possessed by an otherworldly entity,

her mother calls on the Catholic Church for help. If you don't know what the exorcist about,

you should probably just go watch it right now. And actually, this one came up recently in

conversation, Ashen. If you remember in our Final Girls episode,

the screenwriter for that was Jason Miller's son, who was Father Karas in this movie,

or Father Karas. Yeah, right, right. I remember we were talking about that. I didn't realize

it was the main priest then, right? It was his son. Yeah, yeah, and he

kind of wrote Final Girls as a way to deal with his father's death. Man, I didn't even know that

guy was going to die in this movie. It was crazy. You should have, we said that he dies in this movie

on our Final Girls episode. Yeah, yeah, I just assumed it was some other character,

but that makes sense that. Yeah, there are a couple of priests.

So had you not seen this before, or you just didn't remember? I don't remember. Like,

I feel like I saw this, like probably the last time would have been like early 2000s,

like 2002 or three or something when

it was last time you saw this one it's been a long time probably pre 2000 even wow yeah um
