Now, Atlassian is a fascinating tale of enterprise software.

The firm itself was founded in Australia, far from Silicon Valley.

And being that far from the heart of the tech industry, it had to evolve in its own way

and started to deliver its services online before the software as a service model were familiar

with today became mainstream.

Scott and his co-founder, Mike Cannon Brooks, didn't even take external capital

until the firm was a decade-old and profitable.

And then the cash came from Excel partners, one of the most storied venture capital firms in the world.
