Bill, as part of your systematic philosophical theology, you're reviewing the ordinances of the church.

And today we're going to look at the Eucharist.

But first, talk about this latest locus.

This is part of the locus devoted to ecclesiology, which is the doctrine of the church.

And this will concern the nature of the church, its sacraments, and its organization.

And one of the most important of the sacraments is certainly the

Eucharist or the Lord's Supper. And so for the last several months, I've been devoting intensive

study to the doctrine of the Eucharist. Dr. Gavin Ortland is anecdotally becoming known for his emphasis on the Eucharist.

He's a Baptist pastor, he's a scholar, and he thinks that Protestants in particular need to

recover or rethink the importance of the Eucharist.

And Bill, he's starting to become known for this.

You know Gavin, you've been on his

channel and know his folks as well. Yes, that's right. His father, Bud Ortland, was one of my best

friends in college. And so it's been a delight for me to get to know Gavin. And I want to say

that I love Gavin Ortland. I think he is a wonderful

Christian, intelligent, pious, sincere, committed, and I'm a big fan. And I say that because I'm

And so I want to put that out on the table here.
