I don't care who I'm sitting in front of.

0:01.7

I don't care what state or country he rules. I'm going to speak the Word of God and I'm not going to flatter. Now we have a lot of people that are bold about the wrong things and quiet about the right things. Paul said, pray for me that I might speak boldly because I have to speak. Now, this is the great Apostle Paul, who has set up churches all over the known world, and he's prayed, pray for me that I might have boldness. Seventy percent of Christians are hesitant to share the gospel because they're afraid of offending or being rejected. The Lord spoke to me, and he said, any area, son, that you fear in is an area that you haven't put under the cross. You still own it. And all of a sudden, I realized. Hey, everyone. Welcome to Conversations. I'm John joined by my beautiful wife, Lisa. It's great to see you. You look very studious with those glasses on. I feel very studious with the glasses on. But then you look kind of

fierce with that little scarf on, babe. I've had to have a just a little bit of animal proof. I love it. I love it because I think it fits with what we're going to talk about today. I'm so excited about what we're going to talk about. This is a challenge that's a big challenge for us. Yes. Boldness. Boldness.

1:08.2

We have such a proper boldness.

1:09.8

We said it.

1:10.4

We're cut out of the bag.

1:10.8

We are talking about boldness today, and we're not talking about the kind of boldness where, you know, somebody standing on a street corner with a microphone, you know. Is that wrong? It's not wrong. Okay. We are talking about everyday boldness. Yeah, I mean, the truth is you can be bold and wrong or you can be bold and right. And I think right now we have a lot of

1:29.8

people that are bold about the wrong things and quiet about the right things. And so we really

1:36.9

want to encourage the Christians to understand that boldness is important. And, you know, we were

1:43.1

out to dinner with some great friends of

1:44.5

ours, Pastor Dennis and Colleen. And Colleen brought up this point. She said there is a difference

1:50.2

between being bold and being a bully. And she said, sometimes we mistake boldness as bullying.

1:57.2

So you can be bold without being harsh, but we need to actually have a boldness come

2:03.9

back into the body of Christ. And, you know, your favorite, my favorite book of yours that

2:08.9

deals with boldness is breaking intimidation. I still remember, I still remember that you had

2:15.0

me editing the book. You came up from a trip, and I said to you,

2:19.6

wait a minute, am I accountable for this information? Because I am more afraid of the people

2:26.1

I see than the God I don't see. But I didn't ask to read this book. I didn't want to read this

2:31.2

book. And I just remember I was working on and felt the Spirit of God hit me. I put my hands up. I started confessing. I said, God, it's me. I am too afraid of other people's opinions, other people's reactions. And you said to me, well, if you know it, you're now accountable. So if you don't want to be bold, you need to turn off this right now. So here's the thing. Back in those days, in our very early days of marriage, there were actually

2:56.3

women that one of my friends came up to me, and he said, hey, a lot of the women in the church

3:02.0

think that Lisa's stuck up. And I said, what? That's ridiculous. Lisa is so far from being stuck up. I mean, because

3:09.2

there's, if there's a, one of your many, many traits that I so admire is that you are not into
