Usually on this podcast we explore and dissect the evolution of the horror genre by looking at

particular sub-jomras across a number of weeks. We are currently in the midst of exploring

the evolution of folk horror with each new episode being released every Friday, but I

wanted to take this opportunity to let you guys hear my chat with filmmakers, writers, actors Justin Benson and

Aaron Moorhead. Now for those of you who haven't heard of them these two are

definitely ones to watch. They've got three movies in their back catalogue. The previous movie that came out a couple of years ago called Spring got huge critical acclaim and even Giamodel Toro tweeted about it saying it was one of the best genre movies he'd seen in the last 10 years.

But before that, their first feature was a movie called Resolution, a really interesting

movie about two guys going into a cabin. One of them is trying to get off drugs, sort of cold

turkey style and weird stuff starts to happen. And again it's a it's a kind of

subversion on the cabin in the woods horror movie and in that tradition they've now

got a new movie called The Endless. The Endless is although it not a sequel, it does in some way link to their first feature resolution,

and involves the story of a sort of commune, a UFO death cult out in the middle of the woods and two brothers,

played by Benson and Morehead, who grew up in this

commune, escaped and are now returning 10 years later.

Now again, I don't want to go into spoilers, but the movie goes in very different, interesting, weird

and wonderful directions and is not the
