Are you heading into work today?

I'm Alex Bell, and on today's Business Daily, we'll be finding out why three and a half

years on from the start of the COVID pandemic, many of us still haven't gone back to the office. And we'll

I've just arrived at the BBC's offices near Manchester in the north of England. It took me the best part

of an hour to get here via public transport. I had to get up early to make lunch and wash my hair,

and to top it all off, it's raining. That said, there's coffee here, and for me, nothing compares

to seeing your co-workers face to face, most of them anyway.

Things are slowly returning to normal here since the pandemic forced many of us to work from home.

But even now, there are high numbers of employees not just here, but everywhere, who choose
