Today's episode is a trio of entertainment crises and a month from hell for some Hollywood giants.

First, Netflix.

The company stocks slumped after an earnings report revealed last week that its subscriber

growth had suddenly and rather shockingly reversed.

Netflix was supposed to add a little more than one million subscribers last quarter.

Instead, it's now projected to lose more than two million subscribers in the first half

of this year.

Some sort of misses are pretty rare for companies as successful and well-run as Netflix.

And it raises some really big and interesting questions about the future of the entire

streaming business and by extension, the future of Hollywood.

Company number two is CNN plus.

CNN plus was a standalone streaming news product for about 13 seconds.

CNN poured $300 million into this company in production and marketing.
