Summary

What are we so afraid of? In this reflective conversation, Mosaic Lead Pastor Erwin McManus helps us unpack how fear impacts our lives and can paralyze us from stepping into the future we long for.

In Joshua chapter 1, God commanded Joshua and his people to be strong and courageous. This means choosing courage is not simply a suggestion God gives us, but a command. And though many of us have created lives that are tailor-made around our fears, Pastor Erwin proposes that the life God has for us will force us to walk into the center of our fears.

When Jesus died on the cross, he declared to humanity that even death was not something to be feared. When we are aware of how deeply loved we are by God, we experience a boldness that sends us into our deepest fears with a heart full of courage. As we look to the example of Jesus, we are compelled to choose a life filled to the brim with courage and strength.

0:49.0	And yet what would be considered the worst moment in our modern history became an opportune

0:58.6	And that's why you should never underestimate how much good can come out of a moment of
1:03.2	crisis.
1:05.2	It's just all about reinventing yourself and re-envisioning the world around you and
1:10.6	creating something beautiful out of tragedy.
1:13.5	And so I just want you to just take a moment and soak it in and just appreciate all the
1:18.0	work that has been done and all the beauty that's here.
1:21.3	And yet with our volunteer team that was here early, I told him I said, as beautiful
1:25.8	as this building is, the most spectacular thing here is you.
1:30.6	It's you, the people who fill this space that really make this place beautiful because
1:35.9	they would, in all of its splendors, still be empty and hollow if it wasn't for the love
1:43.2	and the kindness and the compassion of every person that fills this space.
