This is our sixth and final episode of Sound-Oli covering the 1997 theatrical film,

The End of Evangelion, which compliments and somewhat displaces the TV series finale.

Complements and somewhat displaces is a great way of characterizing it.

Yeah, we should explain it, right?

Yeah, we absolutely should.

We don't have to give the whole backstory.

You know, part of this series, I feel like, is really reveling in the show

itself and letting the show speak for itself, even though there's a lot of history about the

director and about just the production and the sort of pitfalls of making this show that

happened and sort of shape what the show looks like. But we should say that obviously in our previous episode of Sound Only,

we covered the final, you know, we covered the final episodes of the show.

And the final episode, the final two episodes in particular are very strange.

To say the very least about it.

And the movie that we're covering today, the end of Evangelion,

is also quite strange,

but it's also strange in a way
