Will, so what do you mean when you say that our love for animals can be religious?

Well, we care about animals very much in this country.

I also say in the piece that the reason politicians always say, it's a cliche,

for them to say we are a nation of animal lovers. But the reason they say it is because it is true

and it's so uncontroversial. I mean, we all know this is true. And I also think that's a good thing.

It's very good that this country is high standards of animal welfare. And it's very good to love

and care for animals.

But love can warp.

It can go wrong.

You can lose perspective.
