The Washington Post reveals that the man behind a massive leak of US government secrets that has exposed spying on allies, revealed the grim prospects for Ukraine's war with Russia, and ignited diplomatic fires for the White House, is a young charismatic gun enthusiast,

who shared highly classified documents with a group of far-flung acquaintances, searching for companionship amid the isolation of the pandemic.

United by their mutual love of guns, military gear, and God, the group of roughly two dozen, mostly men and boys, formed an invitation only clubhouse in 2020 on Discord, an online platform popular with gamers.

But they paid little attention last year, when the man some call OG, posted a message laden with strange acronyms in jargon. A young member read OG's message closely, and the hundreds more that he said followed on a regular basis for months.

They were, he recalled, what appeared to be near verbatim transcripts of classified intelligence documents that OG indicated he had brought home from his job on a military base, which the member declined to identify.

Discord said in a statement that it is cooperating with law enforcement, and has declined to comment further.

According to Reuters, the leaked US intelligence documents suggesting Washington Spide on South Korea have put the country's president in a delicate situation ahead of a state visit to the United States, the first such trip by a South Korean leader in 12 years.

The documents contained purportedly private conversations between senior South Korean officials about Ukraine, indicating that Washington may have conducted surveillance on a key Asian ally, even as the two nations publicly vowed to reinforce their alliance.

CNN reports that police have launched an investigation after a document outlining details of US President Joe Biden's trip to Northern Ireland was found on the street by a member of the public on Wednesday.

The police service of Northern Ireland said they were aware of a security breach following the incident that was first reported by BBC Radio Ulster.

We take the safety of visiting dignitaries, members of the public, and our officers and staff extremely seriously and will put the appropriate actions in place the police statement added.

According to the BBC, the document was found in Belfast, close to the hotel where the US delegation was staying overnight Tuesday.

The US Secret Service released a statement Wednesday saying it was made aware of media reports by PSNI regarding a potentially sensitive document which may contain law enforcement material.

While we do not discuss the specifics of any protective operation, the President's movements were not affected by these reports, said the chief of communications for the US Secret Service.
