On September 24, 1956, a man was born who went from crime fighter to criminal seemingly at the drop

of a hat. So if you like your coffee hot but your bones chilled, sit back and start your day with a morning

cup of murder. Manuel Mani Pardo Jr. was born on September 24, 1956 in New York. According to the

sources, Mani's young life was filled with Boy Scouts, the Marine Corps, and in the 1970s, work in the Florida State Highway

Patrol after graduating in the top of his class at the Academy.

Unfortunately, after being caught falsifying traffic tickets, he was fired from the agency,

but later hired by the police department in the small Florida city of Sweetwater,

a place where he was one of four officers charged with brutality, but ultimately the case was dismissed.

He was fired, though, four years later, after flying to the Bahamas to testify at the trial of one of his colleagues, who was being accused of drug smuggling, and for lying to the courts by saying that they were international undercover agents.

On the surface, it seemed like Manny's life was filled with contradictions.

Moments where he seemed to be doing the valiant thing, only to take that power and turn it into something dangerous.

However, in January of 1986, he was ready to drop all pretences, and along with the help of an accomplice,

became a serial killer responsible for the murders of at least nine individuals over the course of just

four months.

His first set of victims were 33-year-old Mario Amador and 28-year-old Roberto Alonzo.
