This is True Crime Kids. The And we are back, back for the Donner Party, part two, when we left them in part one.

It was mid-June of 1846.

They had went through a few setbacks.

Everything was going relatively okay for them so far.

They'd lost an old lady, but it was somebody's mother-in-law,

so it's like, you've got to take the good with the bat,

and a river had risen due to the rain and made crossing it impossible for days.

But regardless of these setbacks, they had adapted and overcame.

And at the end of the episode, we left the Donner Party sitting somewhere in a prairie in Nebraska.

And they had bellies full of buffalo steak.

They were sitting at a campfire telling stories.

They were excited.

They were feeling good.

And everything seemed okay.

But all of that is getting ready to start changing at mock holy motherfucker very shortly, though. And I think that catches us up so far,

doesn't it? Yeah. I think June in Nebraska with Buffalo steaks is, I mean, some people

nowadays will pay for that experience. Yeah, 100%. Yeah, I mean, they would 100% also be a hipster,

but you have to search out the smell of camp fire, charcoal, and gunpowder in 2025,

whereas this was kind of a, because now I buy soap that's supposed to smell like the Oregon Trail,

you know, and you know that's not real smell like the Oregon Trail, you know.

And you know that's not real.

Like you buy Squatch, the Sasquatch soap, and it's like, smells like the Oregon Trail
