Wendy Adelson's former boyfriend, Jeff Lacasse, was a major witness in the previous trials in the murder case of Dan Markell, the Florida State University law professor who was shot and killed after pulling into his driveway in July 2014.

At Donna Adelson's trial, which we started in the last episode, Part 1, Jeff LeCast testified

about many of the same things he had testified to before, like how Wendy was extremely

bothered by the relocation motion having been denied. But some things became a bit more clear.

According to his testimony, in April 2014,

Jeff and Wendy had a date night scheduled,

and he couldn't get a hold of her.

He said he was so concerned that he drove over to her place,

and when she answered the door,

he said she appeared to be intoxicated,

not just alcohol, he said.

She wanted him to stay, but he was annoyed and left. Then on June 4, 2014, Wendy called him and canceled a trip that they had

scheduled for July, with them returning the day before the murder. Wendy said she was concerned

that she wouldn't be home in time to pick up

her kids. He said it didn't make any sense because she wasn't scheduled to pick up the kids until

July 18th, which happened to be the day of the murder. Now, June 4th, the date of this phone call,

is an important date because as we know from Louis Rivera's testimony,

that's when the hit men took their first trip out to Tallahassee, but ended up losing sight of

Dan Markell and not killing him. Well, according to Jeff, later that day on June 4th,

Wendy called him again and said she wasn't feeling well. She was having stomach

issues. He went over to her place. And what happened when you got there? Well, on the way there,
