Once upon a time, there lived a sheepdog who tended sheep on a farm.

His master was not very kind, and never gave him enough to eat.

So one day, the sheepdog decided he would leave and go his own way.

He walked for days through fields and forests and grew so tired, he lay down under an oak tree and took a rest. When he woke,

he found a sparrow standing in front of him. Brother dog, I thought you'd never wake. Why are you so

sleepy? The sparrow asked. I'm hungry. No, I've found nothing to eat. The sheepdog replied.

Dear brother, follow me to town and I will make sure your belly is full.

So the sheepdog followed the sparrow to town. And when they arrived, the sparrow led him straight to the butcher's shop.

Stay here. I shall go in and pick a bit of meat for you, brother dog.

Said the sparrow.

The sparrow flew onto the window sill and checked to be sure no one was watching him.

He spread his wings, took flight, and darted straight to a large piece of meat.

He grabbed it with his beak and pulled.

He was a mighty little fellow.

He carried it through the air, and just as he reached the window, he dropped

it. It was so heavy. But the dog was there and ready, and when the meat fell, he caught

it in his mouth and ran straight to an alleyway where he devoured it.

Delicious, said the dog.

Follow me to another shop and I shall get you a second piece.
