Welcome back to another episode of five minutes in church history.

Last week we left you with a cliffhanger and thanks for coming back and now we can finish the story of The Doctor.

We were talking about his legacy and how his legacy is far greater

than two things but for our purposes we're going to look at two things his

legacy from the pulpit and his legacy and books.

I had mentioned on our previous episode that I taught a course surrounded by Lloyd Jones

personal library.

It was a fascinating library. For one thing, it was a fascinating library.

For one thing, it had all of his medical books.

Remember, he was trained as a medical doctor and spent all of those years in school

and had amassed quite a library of medical books.

He was also interested in all sorts of sciences,

in botany and astronomy and mathematics,

and so you could see this wide-ranging mind.

But then in addition to that, he had all these great Puritan works

and great reformed theological works and all kinds of wonderful books. I remember reading through and looking for the margin notes in his books from J Gressam-Machin.

So this was quite a library. In fact, during his life, Lloyd Jones was influential in

and founding something very significant in the city of London

not too far from the British library

and this is a thing called the Evangelical Library.

This Evangelical Library continues to this day and houses many rare books, especially the rare

books of the Puritans.
