Hi, this is Deborah Messing. I'm an actress, social justice advocate and humanitarian.

And I am And Donna Dayani, an entrepreneur attorney. justice advocate and humanitarian.

And I am Andana Dayani, an entrepreneur, attorney,

and most recently the creator and co-founder of the nonpartisan movement,

I am a voter.

Welcome to the dissenters.

So a little backstory,

Mondana and I are very close friends

and we are constantly sending each other stories

of incredible people who completely blow our minds.

And then one day we realized something.

Most of them had no intention of becoming heroes.

They just knew they had to do something and did it.

So we decided to do what we do best.

Completely geek out on endless hours of research

to create our list of the 20 dissenters who blew us away.

Each episode we meet one of these accidental activists and

learn about their journeys. Obviously Ruth Bader Ginsburg is the ultimate

hero for both of us. I mean it's R. B. B. G. So it was no surprise that her iconic I descent slogan would be a huge

inspiration. The idea of dissent is basically saying no I will not have this there is a better way and I'm here to build it.

We hope these stories give you the inspiration and courage to pursue your

passion and purpose. All it really takes is just that first step forward.
