Hello, and welcome to another edition of the Byron York Show, the No-Chit-Chit Podcast.

We'd like to get right into it, and what we're going to get into today is something called

the Disavowal Game.

I'm not sure if it's really called that, maybe I just made it up, but it's called the

Disavowal Game.

So what is that?

It is a well-established practice in the Washington media.

You take a dumb or a partisan or an outrageous or some otherwise controversial statement

by a political figure, and then you press members of his or her party to disavow it.

That's, do you condemn this, will you condemn that, that person X or person Y said?

Now this is an unscientific conclusion, but the Disavowal Game appears to be more often

targeted toward Republicans than Democrats, because many in the press who are Democrats

at heart are more attuned to outrages coming from Republicans than they are to outrages

coming from Democrats.

So the reason I'm bringing the Disavowal Game up today is that the latest unwilling player

of the Disavowal Game is Senator Tom Cotton.

He's an Arkansas Republican.

He's a 2024 presidential aspirant, and he appeared on ABCs this week on Sunday.

Now the interview, which is conducted by the moderator, George Devonopoulos, began reasonably

enough.

No problems at all.
