I'm Kristen Sevey. This is Murder she told.

Kitty Collins was the picture of glamour.

In photos taken before her disappearance, she looks into the camera, eyes up, chin down,

her face framed by a puff of rich brown hair. Her dark eyebrows are carefully shaped into Hollywood arches. In one shot, she wears a shimmery white satin dress that accentuates

her slim figure, in another, a perfectly tailored suit. She stands against old-fashioned

wallpaper, with giant droopy poppies seem to mimic her cloud of silky hair,

and the dim light gives her a soft romantic look. We spoke with her younger sister Linda who idolized her

and said, Kitty was fortunate enough to be five foot nine and always thin. Modeling school had taught her how to carry herself,

and the few photos we have of Kitty are flattering. But knowing what we do now, it's tempting to see

a hint of fear or sadness in her face. In these late 70s, early 80s glamour shots,

Kitty looked like she had stepped off the set of a popular TV show, like Dynasty, or out of the pages of Vogue magazine.

But in reality, she had come from a bumpy road in a small town in rural Maine.

Kitty experimented with her looks, starting in her adolescence.

Her dark brown hair, she bleached blonde,

and for her 1971 high school graduation photo, she styled it in a tasteful 60s flip.

Or is that a wig? Kitty's love of wigs, costumes, and makeup annoyed her parents, especially her father.

She liked movies with fantastic stories that featured beautiful costumes.

She liked Disney's 1949 classic The Legend of Sleepy Hollow and the historical fantasy

adventure TV show, The Swiss Family Robinson.

And Kitty liked to dance.

Her half-sister Tori remembered her dancing to Elvis Presley Records.

Kitty had a lot of half-siblings.
