Good morning everyone and welcome back to another mornings with the masters where we

devote ourselves to the Lord daily with you. Good morning you guys. How good does it feel

to be back? So good. Fun little fact. We made it home last night and we sat outside

for about an hour and a half because we were locked out of our house. After two weeks of being

gone we were so close yet so far away. But we made it in and we're so happy to be picking back

up with day five of our 21 days of discipleship devotion. The Bible has a link to that in the

description if you guys want to fall along with us. As always I'm going to read the scripture

then Tori is going to pick up the Devo. Let's do that. The scripture is John chapter five verses six

through eight and it says this. When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this

condition for a long time he asked him do you want to get well? Sir the invalid replied

I have no one to help me get into the pool when the water is stirred while I'm trying to get in

someone else goes down ahead of me. Then Jesus said to him get up and pick up your mat and walk.

The devotional is titled don't miss Jesus and it says this. In John five Jesus continues to do

things other people wouldn't do and go places people wouldn't go in order to love people who need

it to be loved. In the process he steps on the toes of the Pharisees. This is sad and ironic at

the same time. The very people who dedicated their entire lives to studying the scriptures

for clues about the Messiah were the ones who completely missed him. As Jesus was showing them

signs pointing to his identity as the Son of God these leaders rejected the signs because he

often did them on the Sabbath the most holy day. Clearly it's possible to know about God and still

miss Jesus. Jesus himself said you search the scriptures because you think they'll give you

eternal life but the scriptures point to me. John five thirty nine. Here's the thing Jesus doesn't

just want you to just know some things about him. He wants you to really know him. Discipleship
