Summary

We all go into parenting with some amount of baggage and we hope our kids will have less of it than we did, but what does that even look like? We know what NOT to do, but what DO we do? We love our kids, but how to we nurture and raise them to be emotionally healthy adults? And if we are homeschooling, how do we address obstacles that inevitably show up along the way? I went into motherhood and homeschooling with a very basic understanding of child development and even that little bit of information has proven to be very helpful over my 27 years as a mom. I've learned even more as we have homeschooled our children for the last 23 years. Today, Dan Marcone, M.A., LMHC, is sharing some very, very important information about the development stages of kids and how it relates to their learning. 1:34.5	I have Dan Marcon from Seasons Counseling in Orlando, Florida. I'm going to give you his bio just so you have a little background on him first, but we are going to be talking about the developmental stages of learning for kids today. And I am super excited about this. So Dan is a licensed mental health counselor, a clinical supervisor, practice, founder, and director of Seasons counseling in Orlando, Florida. He's married to Amy,
2:03.3	who is, of course, his best friend and wife. And after completing his undergraduate studies in New
2:08.7	Orleans, he directed a youth ministry in North Georgia. And while working with adolescents and their
2:14.0	families, he discovered his passion for counseling, which led him to return to school.
2:19.3	He graduated with a Master's of Mental Health Counseling from Reformed Theological Seminary and following
2:24.8	school, he served as Director of Counseling for the Adolescent Life Coaching Center and was
2:30.4	co-director of Journey's Counseling Center. In March of 2014, Dan founded Seasons Counseling
2:37.6	in Orlando and is proud to put his time and energy into growing this dynamic helping center.
